Pre-Treatment
- Do not receive treatment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to any ingredient in the product, or have a history of neurological or neuromuscular disorders.
- Avoid blood thinners such as Xarelto, Eliquis, and Coumadin/Warfarin for 7 days prior to treatment to prevent appointment cancellation.
- For 72 hours prior to treatment, avoid the following to reduce the risk of bruising:
- Alcohol
- Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, Aspirin
- Supplements including Vitamins A and E, Ginkgo, Garlic, Green Tea, Flax, Fish Oil, and essential fatty acids
- Avoid all immunizations (including COVID-19, Influenza, Shingles, Tdap, and Gardasil) for 4 weeks before treatment.
- Notify your provider if you have a history of cold sores in the treatment area. If needed, antiviral medication will be prescribed and should begin 48 hours prior to treatment.
Day of Treatment
- Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
- Mild tenderness, stinging, and redness during or after injections are normal.
- Inform your provider of any changes to your skin condition, medical history, supplements, or over-the-counter medications.
- Treatment cannot be performed if you have active cold sores or open herpes simplex lesions in the treatment area.
Post-Treatment
General Care
- Avoid lying down for at least 4 hours after treatment
(this prevents potential migration into unintended muscles).
- You may gently wash your face the evening of treatment.
- Makeup and skincare products may be resumed the following day.
First 24 Hours
- Avoid alcohol.
- Do not lie face-down on a massage table.
- Avoid exercise, excessive heat, and activities that cause sweating.
- Avoid wearing anything that places pressure on the treatment sites
(e.g., hats, helmets, headbands).
First 48 Hours
- Do not aggressively touch or rub the treated areas.
