Before & After Care

Your Tox Injections Care Guide

Pre-Treatment

  • Do not receive treatment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to any ingredient in the product, or have a history of neurological or neuromuscular disorders.
  • Avoid blood thinners such as Xarelto, Eliquis, and Coumadin/Warfarin for 7 days prior to treatment to prevent appointment cancellation.
  • For 72 hours prior to treatment, avoid the following to reduce the risk of bruising:
    • Alcohol
    • Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, Aspirin
    • Supplements including Vitamins A and E, Ginkgo, Garlic, Green Tea, Flax, Fish Oil, and essential fatty acids
  • Avoid all immunizations (including COVID-19, Influenza, Shingles, Tdap, and Gardasil) for 4 weeks before treatment.
  • Notify your provider if you have a history of cold sores in the treatment area. If needed, antiviral medication will be prescribed and should begin 48 hours prior to treatment.

Day of Treatment

  • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
  • Mild tenderness, stinging, and redness during or after injections are normal.
  • Inform your provider of any changes to your skin condition, medical history, supplements, or over-the-counter medications.
  • Treatment cannot be performed if you have active cold sores or open herpes simplex lesions in the treatment area.
