PRP / PRF Treatment Guidelines


  • Hydrate well the day before and the day of the procedure for ease of blood drawing.
  • Avoid Accutane for at least 6 months.
  • Avoid the following for at least 1 week prior to treatment:
    • Retin A/Tretinoin or Retinol containing products.
    • NSAIDS (Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve, Naprosyn, Aspirin) – Tylenol is allowed.
    • Certain nutritional supplements (Gingko, Garlic, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Flax Oil, Curcumin, and other anti-inflammatory nutrients).
    • Systemic Steroids (prednisone, dexamethasone).
    • Spray tan.
    • Alcohol and cigarettes.

Post Treatment

  • Redness, swelling, bruising, and a general “tight feeling” may occur.
  • Occasionally, there may be a peeling effect.
  • Avoid cold cloths and ice to the treatment area for 48 hours.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure and use a physical sunblock daily for at least 1 week.
  • You may return to your usual skincare regimen after a week.
  • Avoid Retin A/Tretinoin or Retinol containing products for at least 1 week.
  • You may take Tylenol as needed for discomfort.
