Opus Plasma Pre Treatment Guidelines

  • 6 months prior to treatment, absolutely NO Accutane.
  • 14 days prior, avoid all laser treatment and sun exposure.
  • 7 days prior, stop using all topical Retinoids or Retinols. No peels, facials, exfoliants, topical antibiotics, exfoliating masks, hydroquinone, benzoyl peroxide, acne products, alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), or beta hydroxy acids (BHA).
  • 5 days prior, avoid excessive alcohol.
  • 3-5 days prior, increase water intake to 48 to 64 oz per day, including the day after treatment.
  • If you have a history of cold sores, see your physician for an antiviral agent and start taking 2 days prior to treatment.

Day of Treatment Instructions

  • Avoid lotion, creams, make-up in area to be treated.
  • Arrive with clean, washed skin without make-up or topicals.
  • Update your provider on any changes in skin condition, medical history, supplements, and over the counter medications.
  • You cannot be treated if you have active cold sores, herpes simplex open sores or sunburns within the application area.

What to Expect

  • Redness, potential swelling.
  • Rough or sandpaper like feeling to the treated area.
  • You may feel as though you have a harsh sunburn for up to 2 hours post treatment.
  • Potential for scabbing or scratches – these may last up to 7 days.
  • You may experience a dry and tight feeling to your skin in the treated area.

Post Treatment Guidelines

  • Avoid sun exposure, strenuous exercise, saunas, jacuzzis, etc. for 48 hours.
  • Use a gentle cleanser and the CBD Barrier Restoring Cream (provided with treatment) twice every day for 7 days following the treatment.
  • Avoid the following for the next 7 days:
    • Active skin care products:
      • Vitamins A, C, and E: Retinol, Retin-A, Retinoids, etc.
      • Niacinamide, other ceramide products.
      • Acids (AHA, BHA, PHA, Lactic, Glycolic, Salicylic, etc.)
  • Makeup can be applied 24 hours after the treatment.
  • SUNSCREEN SHOULD BE WORN AFTER 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT.
