Pre-Treatment
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
- Apply SPF 1 hour before sun exposure and reapply every 2 hours when outdoors.
- If treating the legs, obtain medium compression leg sleeves.
These should be worn immediately after treatment and all day for 2 weeks. - Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
Avoid lotions, creams, oils, deodorant, or other topical products on the treatment area. - Arrive well-hydrated to support optimal results.
- Inform your provider of any changes in skin condition, medical history, supplements, or over-the-counter medications.
- You cannot be treated if you have active cold sores, open herpes simplex lesions, or a sunburn in the treatment area.
Post-Treatment
General Care
- The treated area may feel dry or chapped for up to 2 weeks.
Use a gentle moisturizer and stay hydrated. - Rough, dry, or scabbing skin is normal — do not pick or scratch.
- If the treated area is on the face, wait 24 hours before applying makeup.
- Wear SPF 30+ during any sun exposure.
A wide-brimmed hat is strongly recommended. - If compression sleeves are applicable, wear them for 2 weeks, including during sleep if comfortable.
- Results may begin to appear around 4 weeks post-treatment.
First 5–10 Days
- Avoid sun exposure entirely.
Use SPF and wear protective clothing while driving or outdoors. - Avoid strenuous activity, heavy sweating, or exercise.
Light walking is permitted after 5 days. - Do not shave treated areas if scabbing or crusting is present.
- Avoid pools, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and ocean water.
- Do not use topical lotions, heavy creams, tanning lotions, or spray tans unless advised by your provider.
- Refrain from taking aspirin, ibuprofen, or other anticoagulants unless directed by your provider.
- Avoid active skincare products, including AHAs, BHAs, retinol, and low-pH vitamin C.
